Management Survey

The management survey purpose is required to manage ACM (Asbestos-containing material) during the normal occupation and use of the premises.

The management survey ensures that:

  1. Nobody is harmed by the continuing presence of ACM in the premises of equipment
  2. The ACM remain in good condition
  3. Nobody disturbs it accidentally

The asbestos surveys locate ACM that could be disturbed and or damaged by normal activities, by maintenance or even by installing new equipment. In order to make a materials assessment some minor intrusion and asbestos disturbance is required. This will then show the ability for the ACM to release asbestos fibres into the air.

Refurbishment / Demolition Survey

The Refurbishment or demolition asbestos surveys are required when the premises in question or part of it is in need of refurbishment, upgrading or even complete demolition. This survey does not need a record of the condition of the ACM, however normally a surveyor is needed for a refurbishment / demolition survey.

The refurbishment / demolition asbestos surveys ensure that:

  1. Nobody will be harmed by work on ACM in the premises of equipment
  2. Work carried out will be done by the right contractor in the correct way

All ACM must be located and identified before any structurial work is allowed to commence at the stated location or on stated equipment. As it requires a destructive inspection as well as an asbestos disturbance. The area surveyed must be vacated and then certified ‘fit for reoccupation’ after the survey has been completed.
